I have a Gateway M285E laptop and I'm unable to get the DVD drive working. Windows Vista reports that it could not load the driver software. Does anyone have any idea how to get this working?

I would recommend reporting it using the tools mentioned in the feedback shortcut.
I reported the exact issue using the tools and provided them with all the information they needed. In a couple hours, Vista automatically picked up the dvd-rw.

This worked for me and others in this forum, delete the upperfilters / lowerfilters keys
